‘Halloween Ends’ tops the weekend box office; ‘Smile’ drops to second

With October in full swing more Halloween scary movies are coming to the box office. The latest film on the Halloween franchise Halloween Ends opened at the top of the weekend box office with an estimated $41.2 million. Including international receipts the film has taken in $58.4 million worldwide.

The scary movie Smile from Paramount Pictures dropped to second at the box office for its third weekend. The film earned an estimated $12.4 million. The film has generated an estimated $71.2 million domestically so far. Including international cumes the film has earned $137.6 million.

Sony Pictures’ live action CG hybrid kids movie Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile dropped to third place with $7.4 million. In two weeks the full has generated $26.7 million.

In fourth place, TriStar Pictures’ The Woman King took in another $3.7 million at the box office in its fifth week of release. The film had generated $76.5 million domestically so far.

Walt Disney’s Amsterdam dropped in fifth place with an estimated $2.9 million.

Next weekend will see the release of the thriller Black Adam from Warner Bros. Pictures.
