‘Scream’ drops to second place, ‘Spider-Man’ reclaims Box Office title

Paramount Pictures’ fifth entry in the slasher franchise Scream (2022) dropped the second spot at the weekend box office with an estimated $12.4 million domestically. The film has now opened in multiple international markets and has added another $33.6 million internationally. Scream (2022) has now taken in $84.9 million worldwide.

Rising to the top spot at the weekend box office was Sony / Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home which took in another $14.1 million, bringing the domestic gross of the film to $721 million and $1.69 billion worldwide.

Rounding out the top five was Universl’s animated Sing 2 with $5.7 million for third place. Universal Pictures’ Redeeming Love opened in fourth place with $3.7 million while and 20th Century Studios’ The King’s Man rounded out the top five with $1.8 million.

There are no wide releases next weekend but there will be a pair of wide releases on February 4th. Paramount Pictures will release Jackass Forever and Lionsgate will release the sci-fi film Moonfall.
