‘Scream’ scares up $30 million in debut weekend

Paramount Pictures’ fifth entry in the slasher franchise Scream (2022) took the top spot at the weekend box office with an estimated $30 million domestically. The film has only opened internationally in the UAE with $310,000 in earnings.

Taking second place was Sony / Marvel’s Spider-Man: No Way Home which took in another $20.1 million, bringing the domestic gross of the film to $698 million. Rounding out the top five was Universl’s animated Sing 2 with $7.9 million, The 355 from Universal Pictures, and 20th Century Studios’ The King’s Man with $2.2 million.

Next weekend sees two wide releases in Redeeming Love from Universal Pictures and The King’s Daughter from Gravitas Ventures.
