‘Smile’ scares to the top of the Weekend Box Office

The fresh scary movie Smile from Paramount Pictures opened at the top of the box office over the weekend. The film opened with an estimated $22 million. The film opened internationally with another estimated $14.5 million. The worldwide cume stands at $36.5 million.

Warner Bros’ Don’t Worry Darling took in another $7.3 million in its second weekend. The film has taken in $32.8 million domestically in two weeks of release.

TriStar Pictures’ The Woman King took in another $6.9 million at the box office in its third week of release. The film had generated $46.7 million domestically so far.

Rounding out the to five was Universal Pictures’ Bros. which opened in fourth place with $4.8 million followed by 20th Century Studios’ release of Avatar took in another $4.7 million in fifth place.

Next weekend will see the release of the live action CG film Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile from Sony Pictures Entertainment.
